Phad communications, a US-based company has just announced its new service for free long distance calls. The company is proud with this rare service. At first, they would offer you a service that will let you call any US number from a US number. Later, they will let you extend the service by offering free calls to Mexico.

You can use this long distance service by accessing their number 1-800-980-PHAD (7423), then enter the number of your destination. There will be a 30-second commercial message. After listening to the advertisement, PHAD will let you have a 10-minute talk time credit. This means you will be allowed to have that call for 10 minutes. It will automatically disconnect once the 10-minute call is up. No worries. You can repeat the procedure for a new call.

If you want to avail this service, it is best if you use a toll-free number in your residential landline rather than on your cell phone carrier. Most mobile phone service will charge you with additional fee for toll-free calls.

There is a similar service as that of Phad. RingPlus also offers free international calls with the same propaganda of listening to audio ads. You have to dial 1-800-Free-411 to access their number and start the free call. It gives corresponding talk time credit depending on the destination. For calls to India, they give 7 minues, 14 mins for China, and other countries might have less or more talk time. You can get 10 calls free for each account. But you must be able to set up Ringplus before availing this service.

It’s better if we look at how one service provider package differs from their other packages. This time, we’ll look at ALLVOI. This home phone service provider is based in Chicago. It offers unlimited calling packages for both domestic and international calls. Their lowest package starts at $3.99 per month. This gives you 500 minutes domestic call around US, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Canada. They will charge 3 cents per minute after exceeding the 500 minute free call. But they give all in-network calls for free.

The next package costs $19.99 per month. This promises an unlimited calling to the same areas including 65 popular international destinations. They also give free unlimited call for in-networks. This international plan includes calls to France, Germany, Australia, Greece, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Poland, Spain, and China.

The service provider has a separate plan for India calls called Unlimited India Calling Plan. However, this plan seems a bit tricky. They do not offer unlimited calling to India. They only charge you with the package fee according to the National Average Monthly Usage.

Despite the word unlimited in all these packages, ALLVOI doesn’t really provide unlimited calls. They only do so for in-network calls. Apparently, for other networks, they only offer 500 minutes per month at $19.99. Exceeding this will cost 4 cents per minute. Other service providers may have cheaper package rates than this. In fact, Mediaring only asks for 1.9 cents per minute on all calls to India. These packages may still change when competition rises.

So what’s in it that is making people decide to keep their landline phone? The first reason would be its coverage. Although many mobile services have increased their network coverage, they are still far from perfect. No mobile networks seem to offer a total coverage, some ares have no 3G or whatsoever. For people living and operating business especially in rural areas, landline connection has not found its alternative.

The second reason is landlines can be availed at cheaper cost. In this way, they are able to get away with the excessive charges mobile phones ask you for certain services. For instance, receiving voicemail messages is free if you have an answer phone facility in your landline handset. The same service will cost you more if you’re using a mobile phone.

Other services which are important to businesses also come in reasonable cost or even free in landline phones. Few of these services are per-minute dialing, battery life, and the benefit of having your number listed in the telephone directory. With this, your business can be easily reached without having to worry about your battery life running out and visibility to customers. Landlines also appear more professional than mobile phones. Also, the “per-minute cost” creates a significant difference in your bills. You may also check with your providers for other good services that are affordable. Some landline phone services are 0044, Vonage, Voxofon, and many others.

When you are exploring or looking for information, the internet is a very important tool that can aid you in your search.  Use the internet to look for different local telephone companies and compare the prices of the various home service providers.  Try to organize all the information that you can gather by making a list or a chart for better comparison.  Evaluate each of your options and ask about if they offer other services like call waiting, caller i.d. and voice mail.  Verify with your top choices if they can combine their services to be able to save more money.  There are some service providers that combine their services such as their phone service, long distance calls, cable television and internet service in a package deal to give you more savings.  Weigh each of your choices and check which company will provide the best package deals.  You can check the services and package deals of each company by calling them, just make sure that you have prepared questions in order to get a better picture of what they are really offering and how much are they asking for.  You could also ask them if they have low cost programs for low-income families.  You have to meet certain financial criteria in order to qualify for this program.  Verify with the phone service provider about the requirements and make sure that you understand all of the information before applying for the program.

You could definitely save a lot of money if you know how to find a cheap phone service provider.  Making the necessary research will certainly pay off if you put in the needed time and effort.

Truthfully, you won’t be running out of phone service providers these days since there are more than a dozen to choose from. However, not all of them can provide you with the kind of service you are looking for. This is why it is necessary that you conduct your own research on their background and the service they are offering to determine whether they have what it takes to supply with you efficient communication service at all times. You should look into the type of phone you have and which provider it works best with to help you decide.

Of course, the plans that the phone service provider should be looked into as well if you want to get the best there is. Some do offer affordable prices but there are some who require bigger payments every month. Consider their offers carefully.
